Marcy Bidney is the Curator at the American Geographical Society Library and Assistant Director of the University Libraries both at the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee. Her research interests involve mapping technology, digital and spatial humanities, geographic education and finding alternative means for access to map collections using a variety of new and developing technologies.

She served nationally as Chair of the Map and Geospatial Information Roundtable of ALA in 2010, as a member of the Cartographic Users Advisory Council since 2008 and internationally as a board member for the Map and Geospatial Information Curators Group of the International Cartographic Association since 2014 and on the Government and Official Publications Committee of IFLA from 2007-2011. 

In 2016 she was appointed to the Board of Review for the Osher Map Library and Smith Center for Cartographic Education at the University of Southern Maine.
